Failure, goals and self-care

Big goals are scary. They set us up to fail. But here’s the thing: failing at something meaningful is far more valuable than achieving something insignificant. Ambition stretches us, even if the outcome isn’t perfect.

Rest is just as important. Many of us feel guilty for taking a day off, but working too much wears us down. Sometimes doing nothing is exactly what we need. Life is like a bank account: you’ve put in plenty of effort, so it’s okay to take a little time for yourself. Rest is part of the plan.

Accountability matters too. You can’t control the world or other people—but you can control how you act. Your actions are yours.

And that brings us to self-acceptance. You are never really alone if you can enjoy your own company.

“I like me, I’d buy me a beer.”

Treat yourself like a friend, and you’ll find peace you can’t get anywhere else. Like yourself, and you’re never lonely.

Takeaway: Set big goals, embrace failure, rest without guilt, take charge of your actions, and learn to like yourself. That’s the formula for growing stronger every day.
